British
singer-songwriter Labrinth, born Timothy McKenzie, was first known after working in 2010 alongside rapper Tinie Tempah, reaching # 1 in the UK Charts with Pass Out. It is in a
family environment wrapped up with gospel music that young Timothy and his eight
brothers and sisters grew up in London where they even will base their own band.
After ending his music studies at Stoke
Newington School, Labrinth was soon creating music in his own studio for
different artists, but he got mostly noticed thanks to Tinie Tempah. From this moment, he will collaborate
with artists such as Dizzee Rascal or Professor Green before releasing his first
solo single late 2010. His debut album Electronic Earth, released early 2012, highlights
the extent of his musical universe where an urban background mixes with interlaced synth, powerful beats, electro-rock
sounds and sometimes sprinklings with classic references. His new single Let It
Be is along the same lines, both eclectic and strongly individualized.
