The Weekly GELT's TOP - Nov. 8, 2014

Artist of the Week: Marina & The Diamonds
Welsh singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis better known as Marina & The Diamonds released her debut album in 2010 in which she expressed her deep new wave music influences. Used since to be ranked in UK and US charts with a dominant electropop sound alternating melancholic ballads as well as quirky sophisticated rhythms, she resolutely asserted as a solo artist not suffering to be compared with other singers of her generation. Not hiding however her interest for iconic Gwen Stefani, she based in this way her stage personality on experimental clothing, even creating her own fashion line, 11 Diamonds. She has just released a new single Froot , foreshadowing a third studio album announced early 2015. Catchy from first listening, her almost stylistically perfect achievement can be undoubtedly praised but perhaps what is also a proven maturity lacks that extra soul or unexpected share producing great hits. To follow up closely.
