Artist of the Week : Kodaline

Strictly speaking, if Kodaline keeps moving on the fringe of most trendy musical styles, there is undoubtedly something comforting about this Dublin-based group evolving for several years in the indie-rock sphere. Mostly native to the neighborhood of Dublin and former college classmates, the 4 band members had drawn attention from 2006 as 21 Demands without being however yet known beyond the Irish border. Renamed Kodaline late 2012, the group released a few months later its debut 11 song-album In A Perfect World including a series of poetic modern-rock ballads reminiscent of both Keane and Coldplay while highlighting in a fine way lead singer Steve Garrigan's voice. Previewing the upcoming release of their sophomore album, new single Honest is fully in line with what made them successful, dosing subtly melancholic universe to soaring ethereal guitar rock.
