The
Scottish Glasgow-based trio came to prominence in early 2012 after the release
of a first highly acclaimed single Lies. Classified as an electro-pop band, Chvrches
matches actually influences from the 80s, recalling the sounds of Kate Bush,
Cindy Lauper, Depeche Mode, Prince or
Cocteau Twins. Featuring lead vocalist Lauren Mayberry, and synth-players /
vocalists Ian Cook and Martin Doherty, the trio released its debut album in
2013, which earned it to be elected best new group of the year in NME
Awards. Chvrches’ new single Get Away, recorded for the BBC Radio 1 movie Drive comes
unsurprisingly in the same vein as tracks that made their success last year. The
group has been since rather quiet, can we only expect a sophomore album in 2015?
