Artist of the week : Future Islands
Who can resist to Seasons (Waitin’ On You), the new single released off their last album by
Future Islands, the trio based in Baltimore, so much it sounds familiar from the first listening, moving in a form of timelessness similar to the relentless pace of the
seasons, progressing back and forth between the nostalgic synths backed by a soft disco beat and mature frontman Samuel
Herring's vocal presence which is in many ways reminiscent of Chris Rea.
The video is rather consistent with the song, showcasing a modern cowboy and his family in their daily life, giving the feeling of peace within and simple happiness among people sharing a same routine in a place of America staying outside the throes of time and reducing the world today to an incidental background.
