Artist of the Week: Years & Years

British electro-pop band Years & Years was formed in London in 2010. After acing last summer with their swaying Take Shelter, the group has just released Desire, a 4^th single melting once more influences from the 90s with R ‘n’B beats. The trio consists of bassist Mikey Goldsworthy, synth player Emre Turkmen and keyboardist vocalist Olly Alexander. Thanks to his catchy voice quality, the latter gives undoubtedly the group its personality. Although still looking almost grown, Years & Years bring a bit freshness and renewal at a the time when pop music is topped by big dance machines. It is sure in any case that their next spring UK tour is nearly sold out, good sign, isn’t it.
